TGIF! #7

FOLLOW ME FRIDAY &
 BOOK BLOGGER HOP! YAY!

This week's featured Follow Me Friday Blogger
is Jess from Gone With the Words

Gone with the Words

I've been following her blog for a while now, and trust me when I say it is absolutely fantastic!

NOW FOR THE FOLLOW ME FRIDAY FUN!

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION IS...

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH
YOUR BLOG NAME?

I spent a few hours scribbling down ideas for my blog name and nothing seemed to work. I absolutely love reading, but I'm also a music and movie junkie, so I needed a name that represented all of the things I would be blogging about. I'm assuming that those of you who have visited my blog on more than one occasion quickly learned that I'm sort of kooky, or eccentric as I like to call it, lol.

I've heard the phrase "You are sooooo weird," more times than I can count on my entire family's fingers and toes, but I've always taken it as a compliment. I'd choose to be weird over boring any day, and I've always embraced my odd qualities rather than falling in line with the rest of the "sheep". I love who I am, so I finally decided on a blog name that suits me perfectly, EMBRACE YOUR ODDITIES.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE
BOOK BLOGGER HOP!

Book Blogger Hop

This week's question comes from Somer at A Bird's Eye Review. I wish I would have found her blog sooner, it is super duper cute! So, Somer would like to know...

DO YOU READ ONLY ONE BOOK AT A TIME OR DO YOU HAVE SEVERAL GOING AT ONCE?

Great question! Normally, I only read one book at a time, especially if I really connect with the protagonist. I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same way, but I feel like I should devote my full attention to the book (and the author) that I am reading. At the beginning of this month, I changed it up a bit and started reading two books, Patricia Briggs's River Marked (Mercy Thompson #6) & Chloe Neill's Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires #1), on the same day. I was in the mood for shifters and vamps, so I figured I would give it a try.

This decision was not in my favor :( I love the Mercy Thompson books, but Some Girls Bite was so intense that I found myself reading it much more than the other. I sort of feel bad for not devoting myself to Mercy, lol. And although I hate to admit this, I'm now actually struggling to get back into the story. From this I have learned that trying new ways to do things is always good, but figuring out which way is best for you is what is important.

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR ANSWERS TO THESE FABULOUS QUESTIONS.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

AND IF YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED UP FOR MY

I like the way you think and your blog is so original! I know what you mean by picking just one book. Good luck with reaching 100 followers! I'm following you, and your contest seems really cool but I'm a Canadian so I can't participate.

Happy hopping,

Hi Mandy! Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog! I appreciate the love.;-) You know, it takes someone special to step out of the crowd and dare to be different. I think it is wonderful you have embraced your oddities! I can tel just by the way you have chosen to decorate and express yourself through your blog that you are a vibrant, cheerful and exciting person! I say GOOD FOR YOU!!!

As you read on my blog I have the tendency to read no less that two book at a time. After reading your comment on how you prefer to do read after trying more than one at a time, I feel I should try the opposite. As of tonight I am sticking to one book at a time to see how my mind reacts. I want to see if I pick up more, get excited more about what I am reading for fall deeper into the story line. It will be interesting!

I know this might come off as being tacky, but I wanted to invite you back to the blog for support on an author guest blog. Raymond Rose is a debut author just learning how to promote himself online and has hardly no followers on Fb to announce his blog tour with. He is a good writer, IMO, and is offering his to fiction books as a prize to one commenter this weekend. If you are so inclined, I would love to help him be successful. :-)

I hope you have a great evening and weekend!

Brenda - thanks for stopping by. Going to check out your blog in just a few. Have a great weekend!

Lucia - I wish I could read more than one book at a time, but my attention span is getting shorter and shorter each day, lol, probably because of all the meds I take. I have a ton of unread books, and it is soooooo difficult to decide which one to read next.

Have a great weekend!
