TGIF! (5)

BOOK BLOGGER HOP & FOLLOW
 ME FRIDAY!

Book Blogger Hop
This week's question comes from Mia who blogs
at Girl About Books...

WHO IS YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE
BOOK VILLAIN?

This may sound a little odd, but my all-time favorite book villain is Elphaba, the wicked which of the West, from Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maquire. Elphaba wasn't always a villain - she was actually a pretty down to earth, good-hearted, green girl. All of her life, Elphaba was simply misunderstood, and although she almost always attempted to act honorably, the circumstances surrounding her and the events that took place throughout her life caused her to eventually develop into a villain. Maquire has a gift for making you love the villain, and that's just one of the reasons I love his style of writing. If you have not yet read Wicked, I absolutely recommend that you put it on your TBR list. It's an amazing book!

And this week's question is...
WHAT EMBARRASSING THING HAVE YOU DONE ON COLD MEDICINE?
I'm giggling while typing this, lol. Thanks for the laugh!

I just got over a bad cold and was taking some prescription cough medicine (the kind with codeine in it) and have a pretty funny story. When I'm really tired I snore and talk in my sleep, so you can imagine what would happen if I was extremely sleepy as a result of taking prescription cough medicine. My future husband, Mitchell, told me that not only was I talking in my sleep, but I was also rambling on in Spanish. He doesn't speak Spanish, so he obviously had no idea what I was saying. To make a long story short, I was repeatedly yelling ¿Dónde están mis gatos? (Where are my cats?!?). Then I yelled at him and told him to stop making fun of me, all while I was sleeping. Ha ha ha ha. Good times!

Great pick! Though I haven't read this series yet. :( I've heard it's really good though. So I may consider reading it sometime soon.

Hi, hon - happy to be a new follower! I went with Randall Flagg from Stephen King's overlapping universes of horror for my villain. Gotta love the man in black . . .

Original pick. From childhood mine would be Hook and from adulthood - mmm? You know I will have to think about that. ;D

Thanks for all the comments, and so glad to see new followers! I'm on my way to hopping by all your blogs.

Caroline - I had to force myself to get through the first few chapters of Wicked, but trust me, it gets much much better. Some of the events were so unexpected - I had to reread a few parts just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, lol.

If you haven't read the book, trust me, you will totally enjoy it! I started to read Son of a Witch just after I finished the first book, but I really didn't have the patience to get through the first few chapters (shame on me). Maguire's books start off slow but hit you when you least expect it. So, I'm sure the other books in the series are just as good as the first.

Happy Reading!

Hopping on by from the blog hop. New follower here and thanks for stopping by and following my blog, as well. Paranormal is not huge on my read list, unless it's shifter or ghost, so this is a new one for me. Sounds interesting.

LMAO where are the cats! I guess it is better then peeing in a closet which is what my cousin did the last time he was hopped up on cold medicine. He thought it was the toilet.

Haha, that was a funny story! I wish I had a similar one to share, but I don't have any cough medicine stories to share, but hopefully that doesn't stop you from following my blog anyway! I am your newest follower. :)

Thanks Mandy for the useful tip. I have very little knowledge about HTML. I removed many buttons that didn't fit in my sidebar. But, thanks to your help, I'll put them back now. BTW, sure I've room for your button too.

Wicked! I loved the book so much - the musical is nothing like it, doesn't do it justice, I say!

That's a hilarious cough syrup story. I'm fighting off a horrendous cold right now, and am totally zonked out on decongestants so hopefully an equally embarrassing cough syrup story won't be in my near future.

Mandy Lum said...

so glad to hear that someone else read the book! i can't believe so many people haven't read it yet - it's such a great read!

i'll be crossing my fingers for you. hopefully you won't start speaking another language in your sleep, lol.

thanks for stopping by!
